SyngBio 2017 will feature three types of presentations at the meeting, Poster Presentations and both Standard 15 and Lightning 3 minute Oral Presentations. Please keep presentations clear and concise. Submissions and presentation will be in English, but we encourage all presenters to respect the fact that many audience members do not speak English as a first language. Presenters will be allowed a maximum of one poster and one oral presentation, but acceptance of both is competitive.
Abstract submission was opened on September 15th, 2016 and closed on November 1st. Abstracts submitted after this date will considered after on a space available basis. Participants will be notified of abstract preliminary acceptance in mid-December before the participant registration closing date of February 1, 2017. However, final acceptance of abstracts will only occur after paid registration is received (register and pay above). Questions about presentations should be directed to Heather Masonjones or Emily Rose at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1) Poster presentations – Posters will be grouped by topic, and should be no larger than 92 by 122 cm (36 by 48 inches; Landscape orientation). Posters will be displayed for the entire meeting, with a specific evening poster session scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2017. At the poster session, authors will have the opportunity to present their work at a “poster walk”, with 2-minute presentations.
2) Standard talks – These presentations will be 12 minutes with 3 minutes for questions, with the 15-minute total time limit strictly enforced by session chairs. Talks will be grouped by topic using the provided keywords. Presenters are asked to give a general introduction and conclusion and avoid jargon whenever possible.
3) Lightning talks – These presentations will be 3 minute talks with opportunity for questions during the 30-minute discussion section at the end of each session. These should cover only one or two key points, serving as advertisements that provoke later discussion.
Guidelines for your abstract can be found in here: Guidelines for the Preparation of Presentations.
The total number of characters including authors, institutions, title, spaces, and abstract body is 2500. The abstract text-body will be automatically truncated if the total characters exceed that number.
To be considered for inclusion in the program, all poster, oral, and keynote submissions must be received by November 1st, 2016. The full schedule of presentations, with dates and times, will be posted on the SyngBio2017 website by mid January.
